Ashi-Abhi
wedding media rights sold

Bollywood celebrity couple
Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan seem to be going the Hollywood way,
not exactly on celluloid, but the duo have reportedly sold exclusive media
coverage rights for their keenly awaited wedding to an international bidder
for millions.
A Hollywood wedding without
exclusive media rights is a rarity of sorts. A prime example is the recently
concluded wedding extravaganza of Liz Hurley and Arun Nayyar. The media
rights for this hush-hush wedding were sold for millions of dollars.
Now it looks like the Bachchan
family could well be the first Bollywood family to sell media rights to
the most anticipated Bollywood wedding of the decade.
When Abhishek Bachchan and
Aishwarya Rai tie the knot, don’t expect photo-ops; the media deal is said
to have been bagged by an international media house for a whopping sum.
Despite repeated efforts
to get their version, the Bachchans and the Rais are tightlipped about
it. But then again, despite strong speculation in the media about the Ash-Abhishek
romance, both the clans had vehemently denied it till Big B himself broke
the news of Ash and Abhi's engagement.
And its not just media rights;
for those anxious to know the date of the wedding, TIMES NOW has learned
that the mega Bollywood union is likely to be solemnised, in what will
be a closed function, Big B’s residence. Till now, Umed Bhavan, the same
hotel that had been the venue for the Liz-Hurley wedding was touted to
be the venue.
The date? Well, D-day is
likely to be 18th April, ample time for the busy bride and groom to wind
up their shooting assignments. Ash is busy shooting for Ashutosh Gowariker's
‘Akbar-Jodha’, while Abhishek has committed his dates to 'Drona'.
