Ash to sue Elle
The actress hasn’t taken
kindly the apparent doctoring of her image in which her skin has been made
paler to give her a Caucasian appearance. And reports say that she might
even consider suing the magazine if indeed it is proved beyond doubt that
her skin was made fairer.
Aishwarya is seen having
a much paler skin complexion than she is naturally blessed with in the
mag. Even the photos of Aishwarya accompanying the article called ‘Mystique
of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’ written by filmmaker Pritish Nandy seems to
be digitally bleached as she looks pretty whitish. Though the Editor-in
Chief of India’s Elle, Nonita Kalra has said they have not done anything
digitally to make the actress’ skin look fairer, however, this is not the
first time that such allegations have been brought in against Elle.
Last year in September
the US Elle received flak for altering and lightening the skin tone of
the Oscar winning actress Gabourey Sidibe, even at that time the mag has
refused such allegations. But since Aishwarya has always stood up for such
issues and even refused to endorse L’Oreal’s fairness cream on the basis
of the bias that India has in reference to skin color, will she be taking
a stand this time too. |
