VIOLENCE in Orissa
KANDHAMAL—THE  VIOLENCE OF POOR SENTIMENTS

Orissa on the east coast of India is extremely a poor state with a population of 37million with 94 percent are Hindu  2 percent are Christian and rest 4 percent are people from other religion.

Some Hindu Pressure group always accuse missionaries forcing  Hindu people converting as it also proved in many interior villages of India in states like Orissa , chhatisgarh and Jharkhand.

The fact is that due to poverty missionaries target the poor and uneducated to convert their religion to make their life comfortable. But Kandhamal is not the same case. The VHP leader and a highly respected Hindu religious teacher  Swami Laxamananda Saraswati with four other were killed on Saturday 23rd Aug, brutally By 30 unidentified gunmen in a Hindu school in Kandhamal District of Orissa turned entire state into a fire of violence .

The VHP leader Pravin Togodia directly accused the chief minister and the missionaries for the incident and some BJP Legislator also resigned although BJP is the alliance of BJD in the state Government .The congress , on the other hand en cashed the issue , joining hand with Left as the coming assembly election is knocking at the door.

Authorities are not sure about the real culprit of the incident but detained four Christians that reflect the in experience attitude of the State Government. On the other hand the Government said the killing may have been the work of Moist rebel.

The people of Orissa  in various part rampaged in the Christian neighborhood and ransacked the missionary schools and churches As in many areas te angry mob blocked the main road  it is a hard nut to crack for the police to reach there in time .

“The state is a mute spectator to the violence that has been unleashed in the Christian community," said Joseph D'Souza, president of the All India Christian Council .
Investigator however expected the possibility that Moist rebels may be to accuse.

“ It is cleare that the Church killed the Swami and the rest must be investgated by the Government” said the Hindu fire brand Leader Pravin Bhai Togodia.

The violence also spreaded to the state capital  Bhubaneswar which is around 141 kilometere away from Kandhmal.

On Kandhmal now thare is the situation of shoot at side order and on 28th Aug. the Central Government has sent some extra platoon of CRPF to cotrol the situation.

The Home minister along with the other minister  Jagadish Tyteler had gone to the state capital but became un able to visit the effected area due to highly unstable siuation .
