Review
Charlie (Shahid Kapoor): Makes a living at the racecourse; he moves in the same circle as the rich and famous and aspires to be one of them, one day. And his street smarts help him get there. Guddu (Shahid Kapoor): Works as a trainee in an NGO; his dream is to become a bona fide member of the Indian middle-class. An honest and diligent person, he falls for Sweety in a big way. Sweety (Priyanka Chopra): Young and feisty, Sweety Shekhar Bhope helps Charlie step out of the shadow of his despotic brother. Bhope (Amole Gupte): A small- time gangster turned rogue politician, he fancies himself as a Messiah of the slums. Cajetan (Carlos Paca): A rebel mercenary who doesn't flinch at the sight of piled-up corpses to get what he wants. He invokes fear in the bravest of men with a mere look. Mujeeb (Deb Mukherjee) and Shumon (Rajatva Dutta): Two of the most powerful bookies on the horse racing circuit. They have an unhealthy lust for power and money second only to their love for their kid brother, Mikhail. Mikhail (Chandan Roy Sanyal):
Wild and reckless; nobody can tame Mikhail, who dreams of being a bookie
along with his pal Charlie.
STORYLINE
It's a dark comic ride as the two are sucked into a world of drugs, guns and money. Their collision with gangsters, rebel soldiers, rogue politicians and crooked cops makes for a crazy adventure. TRIVIA
Priyanka travelled by train from Goregaon to Churchgate to attend an award ceremony. Since she was aware of Mumbai's traffic jam, she travelled by train and wore a burkha to hide her identity. Priyanka was left speechless, quite literally. She had to scream her lungs out for the film as she played a boisterous girl, who believed in making herself heard far and wide. Very little is known about the film except that Shahid has a double role and PC plays a Maharastrian mulgi. It is the story of identical twins Guddu and Charlie born and raised in Dharavi. The boys who are in their early twenties, hope to leave the squalour behind and move to a life of prosperity and dignity. But the similarity ends here. Guddu hopes to climb to the top of the corporate ladder. Charlie makes a living hedging bets at the Race course. For him this is just a way to make quick money and he dreams of becoming a legitimate bookie one day. The brothers don't like each other. They believe they have nothing in common, not even their speech defect. While Guddu stammers, especially when he is nervous, Charlie has a lisp. The brothers have built their
lives so that their paths don't ever cross. They believe it's only a question
of time before they are out of each other's sight forever. And then everything
changes in one day.
