Priyanka
refuses Sonia Gandhi's offer
According to reports, Priyanka Chopra was approached by Congress party to contest elections. The actress was asked to contest from the same constituency where earlier the party had fielded another film star Govinda. But it seems, her date diary didn't permit her to take the plunge. Priyanka didn't refuse the offer initially, but realised she has a pile of work to complete. According to very reliable sources the discussions moved ahead very quickly and then the process had to be stalled. “The Congress wanted a glamorous and younger Bollywood candidate after Govinda for the prestigious Mumbai North constituency. Howeve, priyanka's recent fainting spell and shooting schedule might be the reason for the hottie's refusal. According to reports, Sonia Gandhi was very keen on taking piggy Chops. Says a close friend of actress, "Priyanka doesn’t rule out politics in the future". We are sure, people won't mind having two Priyankas (Chopra and Gandhi) in one party. According to very reliable sources the discussions had gone very much ahead. “The Congress wanted a glamorous and younger Bollywood candidate after Govinda for the prestigious Mumbai North constituency. Someone who would connect with the young urban youth of the nation. Initially Priyanka didn’t say no. But then her bulk of film-related work got the better of her. Shooting day and night and then putting in months of gruelling election campaigning and devoting quality and quantity time to her constituency seemed a bit much for Priyanka. She finally had to say no, although Soniaji was very keen.”
