Agreement signed to improve
facilities in Shirdi
NASIK: In view of the heavy rush of devotees at Shirdi, Shirdi Municipal Council, Saibaba Sansthan and Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) have signed a Rs 65 crore agreement to develop roads in this religious town. Under the project 24.74 km road will be developed in three phases to be completed in equal number of years, an official release said. While Shirdi Saibaba Sansthan will make available all the funds for the scheme, the Municipal council will provide for land acquistion and other services. Read latest news at DNA
The Corporation has already prepared a draft proposing construction of three underground passages to the temple in order to facilate the movements of the pilgrims and submitted it to Shirdi Sansthan. It has also identified eight plotted residential facilities for the visiting devotees. In the first stage 11 roads of 8.49 kms, six roads of 6.85 kms in second stage and 8 roads of 9.40 kms in third stage, will be developed, the release added. |
