Nashik, Oct 8. 2007.: Nashik police has received a unknown letter threatening to blow up famous Sai Baba temple at Shirdi.

Meanwhile, the security at Shirdi and Trimbakeshwar temples has been beefed up after police and intelligence agencies rated the threat perception from terrorist as alarmingly high for the two temples.

The investigation is on to establish the authenticity of the letter and no arrest has been made so far in this connection.

As per intelligence agencies' assessment, terrorist groups could target religious places like Shirdi and Trimbakeshwar during the festive season of Navratri and Diwali.

The Union Home Minister, Shivraj Patil also cautioned that militant outfits might target religious places and top political leaders.
