MS Dhoni married! Indian
Cricket Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni married Sakshi Rawat at a private
ceremony in Dehradun on Sunday. The 29-year Ranchi powerhouse seems
to be religious like his partner Sakshi Rawat as both are pahadis. Sakshi's
father and Dhoni's father used to work together in Ranchi and as such Dhoni
and Sakshi Rawat knew each other from their schooling since DAV School,
Ranchi.
Sakshi, 21, a graduate from
Institute of Hotel Management, Aurangabad, is currently working with Taj
Bengal, Kolkata. And it was in Aurangabad that Sakshi first saw Dhoni.
Sakshi was also seen with Dhoni on November 19 when they went for a rickshaw
ride on her 21st birthday.

secretary and the owner of Chennai Super Kings, which Dhoni led to victory
in this year's Indian Premier League (IPL) season, was attended Dhoni-Sakshi
marriage ceremony. Bollywood stars including Bipasha Basu, Shilpa Shetty,
although could not make their way, congratulated Dhoni on this marriage

Sakshi’s family had said,
after the couple’s engagement on Saturday, that they would marry in October.
But the skipper’s tight cricketing schedule might have prompted the couple
to advance their wedding.
In traditional Indian
style, Dhoni arrived at the venue riding a horse. He wore a black sherwani
with golden threadwork.
Dhoni’s close friends
from the cricketing world, Bollywood and politics attended the wedding.
They included cine star John Abraham, cricketers RP Singh, Harbhajan Singh
and Ashish Nehra, and former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje.
“Guests have demanded
light English and Hindi music at the party,” said local DJ Kingsey, who
was playing the music.
The couple is expected
to host a reception in Mumbai on July 7, Dhoni’s birthday.
Dhoni and Sakshi, who
hails from Aurangabad, are school friends from the skipper’s hometown Ranchi.
“Their fathers worked
together in MECON, and the Rawats moved to Dehradun after retirement,”
a family friend said.
The marriage news of

personalities who enjoyed linking him with models and actresses. Now, many

Earlier, M S Dhoni was

Dhoni and Sakshi married secretly on July 4, 2010 at the luxurious Vishranti
Resorts at Bidhauli, about 25 kms from Dehradun. On July 3, 2010, the two
were engaged.
The resort was well guarded
by police. Hence, media people could not take any picture of the newly
married couple. The reception will be held on July 7, 2010.
Only close friends were
invited to the ceremony. Some of them are- ICC chief Sharad Pawar, BCCI
President Shashank Manohar, former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara
Raje, actor John Abraham, Bollywood director Farah Khan and cricketers
R. P. Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Ashish Nehra and Suresh Raina.
After the news of the
marriage ceremony came out, Sachin Tendulkar congratulated the Indian cricket
captain. He tweeted, "How r u guys, my heartiest congratulations to Dhoni,"
Tendulkar wrote on his twitter page.
Bollywood actresses Bipasha
Basu and Shilpa Shetty, Asha Bhonsle, Yuvraj Singh all posted messages
on Twitter wishing Dhoni and Sakshi.
Dhoni and Sakshi knew
each other since childhood. Their fathers worked together at MECON in Ranchi.
Sakshi’s grandfather is a retired divisional forest officer based in Dehradun.

Sakshi Singh Rawat's
family lives at Alipore in Kolkata. A reliable source said that the two
ment when Sakshi was serving as a trainee with Taj Bengal Kolkata in 2008.
She is now working for an NGO.
Twenty one year old Sakshi
is very romantic. She watched Robert Pattison’s Twilight at least ten times.
She has a cocker spaniel named Joey. However, Sakshi is not a cricket fan
and never attended Dhoni’s matches. In 2009, during the IPL match, Dhoni
flew to Aurungabad to see Sakshi.
Interestingly, Dhoni
developed a cold feet. He was not ready to get married before the World
